would an automatic transmission still move if theres no trans fluid on the dipstick?

i have a 1998 lexus gs300 with a leaky transmission now i was wondering if my
dipstick was dry as can be with no fluid on it and it only leaks when running
could it still move without transmission fluid? btw the picture is the only leak on
the shown on the entire transmission

no , it's basically in neutral without fluid , from my understanding
