How do I unlock the security, navigation and radio screen

Asked by Alan Jun 23, 2015 at 10:06 AM about the 1999 Lexus LS 400 RWD

Question type: General

I recently bought the car.
It appears that the incorrect code was installed a number of times at the car dealers.
As a result the security lock is on on the navigation screen. I therefore cannot get the radio/ CD/ Tape to work. The Navigator also does not work.
What must I do to reset this.

Hi! Yes lockout mode also happens anytime the battery is disconnected for a period of time. It's a relatively painless fix: you just need to call your local Lexus dealership and provide them with your vin number. Once they pull the vehicle up in their system, they should be able to provide you with the vehicles security code for the radio/nav unit. Enter it on the screen and normal functionality should ensue. Would also recommend writing the code down inside of your owners manual booklet in case you need it again in the future. Hope this Helps!
