'98 LS400 - Battery Change - Electrical Problems
Asked by rdbarn1960 Aug 02, 2015 at 05:08 PM about the 1998 Lexus LS 400 RWD
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I replaced the battery in my LS400. The vehicle starts fine, but none of the electronics seem to be working. No lights, windows, seats, can't get the transmission out of "Park". Any thoughts?

Check the fuses in the fuse box under the hood. If one is blown you can tell the difference between a good fuse and a blown fuse.

Thank you. Found a couple burned out fuses, but I'm still having issues. I can start the car, turn the lights on and honk the horn. Otherwise, I'm dead in the water. No dash lights, no seats, no windows, no transmission shift, etc.....

Did you also check the fuse in the fuse box in the vehicle usually on the drivers side panel or under dash drivers side.

Sorry about the delay....work gets in the way! In any regard, all fuses appear to be okay. I've unlocked the shift, so I can drive.

Good news! I ended up replacing the Alt and Main fuses and all works well! Thank you for your help!
