You saying trunk lever wont work from inside the car? If so and lever still feels like it's attached( not loose like broke). Might try pulling it while someone bumps on truck lid with hand right at lock mech.

Does it not have a lever, a mechanical one, for just this reason down by the driver's side door on/near the floorboard....just left of driver's seat

There are 3 ways to open trunk. key fob, key in hole on trunk, and lever as described

In a desperate situation on that Lexus you can get in by going through back seat. See owners manual. There is a device that you can pull, it''s actually lighted, to open trunk from inside if somebody locked you in trunk. No Joke.
