i am planing on buying a LS 430 2004. this car is newer but has 10,000 miles more than a 2002
that has a navigation system on it. can you put a navigation system and how expensive it would
be??? is it necessary? i have a camry hybrid with navigation and it's awesome and I've grown
accustomed to it and so i would like my lexus to have one also..I am appalled to see a hyundai
sonata with i pod and usb hubs and a lexus withouth it????why a car that is supposeb to be so
luxury has this issue???and they come with a CD player unit this is so 90's???isn't it????

i know i can purchase a hand held or windshield mount navigation unit from best buy, but it just doesn't look the same. can you put an after market navigation unit on an Lexus LS 430 and still be able to use heater and AC and other functions???
One of the problems with the on board navigation systems is that they are very expensive to update. You can buy a decent GPS system for under a couple hundred bucks and carry it with you as you walk around. An Lexus or Audi update disc is more than that when they are available. I just got a newer GPS (Garmin) from a eBay auction last fall. Someone one bought a fancy car and sold their year old unit cheap.

can anyone answer my question??? i am torn between buying a LS 430 2002 with 122,000 miles for $11,000....with navigation unit, and a 2004 LS 430 with 96,000 miles for $14,595....without a navigation unit, what would you guys go for???? the newer more expensive with less miles and less equipment or the older cheaper and well equipped more miles car???
Go for the 2004. Better car than 2002

ANYTHING is "possible" but it would be so ridiculously difficult and expensive it would cost more than the car. The navigation on your smartphone is better and always updated which the OEM system never is.
