How to correct side mirror going haywire

Left side mirror gone haywire

Most likely the plastic mechanism that the motor mirror moves is stripped. Cover has to come off and the mirror with motor replaced. Sometimes the mirror can be separated from plastic pivot mechanism. You can unplug the assembly and adjust the mirror to center but doubt it will be any long term fix. If you find that you need the part have a look at some used car parts places. Those type of items are often really pricey if you buy from Lexus.
