Missing Chev 400ci engine

I fixed a float level problem in my Holley 4bbl on my 400ci Chevy engine. When
I started it it ran very rough. I have exhaust headers and could feel them
individually. Only cylinders 1,2,and 3 are firing, the rest are cold. I pulled the
plugs, cleaned and gaped them. The distributor cap/rotor look good. Any ideas?

If your still using a points and condenser distributor check the point gap and for distributor shaft wobble. If you have upgraded to solid state then you have a problem with the distributor pickup coil.
Also do a compression test. If the vehicle sits for extended periods of time you may have stuck valves. If the non firing cylinders test zero, that's what's going on. Hope that helps! Jim
I replaced the plugs and the problem was fixed. I think the flooded carburetor so fouled the plugs that, even after cleaning, they still shorted. Thanks for your help.
