2002 lexus rx 300 wont start after

Asked by Alliebarn Aug 15, 2018 at 03:40 PM about the 2002 Lexus RX 300 AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

First issue was shift cable broke. Car then ran out of gas but after gas was
added and shift cable repaired, the car wouldn't start again even tried a jump
start and a new battery.  Could there be a safety connection  that should be
connected or could there be another issue?  Thank you for any help that you
can provide.

Running out of gas can kill the fuel pump. Turn the key on and listen for the fuel pump hum.
