transmission oil change

Asked by gortiz Feb 12, 2007 at 10:51 AM about the 2001 Lexus RX 300 FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently changed the transmission oil in my car at Tire Plus. They did not change the filter. Do I need to get them to change the filter, since the vehicle has 58,000 miles on it or is this process common to do without changing the filter? Thanks!

Hello, You are supposed to change a transmission filter every 30,000 miles. I don't think you have to make a special request to places such as Tire Plus for this service. So, normally, yes, they do the process without changing the filter, but it is also time for your car to have this work done. Best of luck! CarGrrl

What kind of transmission fluid do you use for this car?
