I have a Lexus RX 300 check engine code p0440 and would like to know what are some of the most common reasons for this code besides gas cap

Asked by DouglasG Jan 30, 2015 at 07:33 PM about the 2001 Lexus RX 300 FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

search engine light has been on since I bought a new gas cap almost 4 weeks ago and I
had it checked and it gives trouble code: p0440 and a code definition: 0.04? EVAP leak
OR EVAP leak and about 50 options for the reason. Can any one narrow it down to just a
few options to check by telling what are the most common reasons to try first?
