2009 Lexus Rx350 Check engine, Vsc, Traction lights on

Asked by That Dude Oct 29, 2018 at 04:19 PM about the 2009 Lexus RX 350 AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Last night while braking to turn right, my CEL,
Traction, and VSC off lights came on. Now it
seems to idle high but otherwise seems normal. I
got the code read at Autozone and it said P0011
Camshaft over advance. I have read that it could
be the camshaft sensor or that I might just need to
disconnect the battery to clear it or even that I
need to run some 'sludge' cleaner through it. Any
advice or help is appreciated. Thanks

I have the same codes. It’s in the shop now. That shop had “repaired” a leaking seal on the Transfer case and performed a transmission service. Two day after the repair I am stranded with an overheated 2008 rx 350. Found broken filler cap part broken, small hose to lower hose plastic section had been broken off. Small hose was raggedy cut and shoved onto remaining oversized section. But, to hose didn’t hold and radiator fluid was everywhere. I had pulled over because heater was not blowing warm air and temperature gauged was pegged. I was about 1/4 miles from gas station. Sat side or road for about 30 minutes then drove to Station, added a gallon of premixed fluid, secured hose and proceeded home. Two days later VSC off flashed, stability indicator, and check Engine flashed. I found the belly pan was missing. Call Transmission shop, they had the Pan. Took I in to them, another tech said “ we have problems with that other Tech” While there, code reader “A and B Bank cam sensor bank too far retarded” They call yesterday, “ It’s fixed now” We will see. I will try to get out of them what to fix was.
