2007 Lexus RX 350
I am shopping for a vehicle and am torn between a used Honda CRV EX-L
(2009-2012) or a 2007-2010 Lexus RX 350. I have found a 2007 Lexus RX 350
with 100,000 miles, but the CarFax is clean, well maintained and a great price.
I'd like to hear from people who own an older Lexus RX 350, especially
regarding longevity, and cost of maintenance and repairs, which I understand
are quite expensive.

I currently own a 2004 lexus rx 330, the car has been very reliable with mostly minor problems, electrical, sensors, etc. My car currently has about 106000 miles and the only major repairs done have been the starter at 80,000 and the rear main seal at 100,000. These cars are known to run over 200k when properly maintained, it is just the maintenance that is the killer. When something breaks, it can be very expensive. For example, the rear main seal which went on mine, requires the engine to be pulled and that work can go up to or over $1500 depending on if you change out other seals as well. My recommendation is if you buy a lexus, have an authorized Toyota dealership fix any issues, has saved me a lot of money so far
TBBO, Please read all the comments Lexus owners made in this column before you decide. After reading all these I am ready to get rid of my RX400H and will never consider another Lexus. Even though I like flash, it does not illuminate darkness on the road. I would prefer flash without trash. and Lexus does not have it anymore.
