Does CarGurus have any role in a problem with a dealer and a customer if the
customer has a problem?

I do not believe CG's has any sort of complaint resolution service.

I meant if a customer trys to exercise the 7 day return and the dealer refuses to refund the money. As standard Car Gurus policy is there any help in getting the dealer to live up to that committment?
I think any policy through Cargurus is only going to help if you used Cargurus pay and purchased a vehicle on this site via a private seller. Any issues with a car dealer is strictly between you and them. Cargurus is an information and ad site. You can read the terms of use if you want to get into the legal side of where this website stands.
Did you read the fine print on the contract? Was it a 7 day return on a used vehicle or new vehicle? I see you are asking for a 2007 Lexus. Was it a Lexus dealer or a local dealer? Most times dealers won't take vehicles back, they are in your name now. If there is something wrong with the car mechanically, ask to have it fixed politely. If you were deceived and the car was found to be in an accident after the fact or odometer was wrong, then you might have a case. If you are still having issues, file a complaint on the dealership via local and state agencies. Of course the dealer will deflect you a couple days till the 7 day window runs out. You can also hire a lawyer, but that can expensive and is it worth it? You can also sell the vehicle yourself.
Sounds like a legal issue. If you complied with ALL the conditions in the return policy (miles, time, condition, etc) and you have proof then contact a lawyer.
