does automatic transmission fluid need changing?

Asked by rontrue Jan 27, 2016 at 11:41 AM about the 1997 Lexus SC 400 RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1997 Lexus SC400.  It has 127,000 miles on it.
The (Toyota) dealer is saying I should change the transmission and brake fluids.

Yes get the fluids changed, but do not let anybody talk you into a trany flush. Just the filter and oil on the trany.

You really should change the trans fluid more often - every 30,000 miles or so.
