Did this start when the new gauge was put in or the sending unit? Were both put in at the same time? Why? Check the wires and make sure you have a proper ground connection. It is easier to change the sending unit than remove the gauge so if the wires are good, try a new sending unit. If it is the same, take it back. Was any other work done that may of nicked the wire caus9ng a short in the wire or giving it stray voltage. Is the gauge made for the sending unit output?
