need help connecting my original engine back onto my 1985 corvette
Asked by Jeff_Ostman03 Jan 10, 2015 at 03:17 PM about the 1985 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe RWD
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
the engine was taken out recently and I bought it from a guy who couldn't afford to pay for further repairs. so I have the original stock engine already sitting in my 85 corvette but a lot of bolts are loose, wires disconnected, and vacume lines are disconnected. I just would like to know how to reconnect my engine to my car. nothing is broken or missing.

Just a thought. Have you checked your local auto parts store for a Haynes repair manual? They are about $20. And can help you put it all back together correctly. I use mine all the time with my 1985 z28.
Nothing yet that gives enough info to fully hook it all back up.
Is the engine fully put back together and you just need to hook up the electrical and vacuum connections? The Haynes Manuel will have all the info you will need.

If you know anyone that has an 85 Corvette ask to look at his, take pictures and draw diagrams. Check if there is a Corvette club close and talk to them, there are always very knowledgeable owners that are ready to help. Some may even have an old 85 manuel laying around in their office or garage.
