1986 corvette manifold gasket issue.

I have a new intake manifold set for my vette and it has the EGR valve blocked on the gaskets for the intake manifold. I don't know why that is. I put the gaskets up to the manifold and it seems that the gaskets were made to block the EGR valve on the right side instead of the left where there is no air passage way. It seems to me that the gasket should not block the EGR valve passage way on the engine instead of the sealed off section on the opposite side of the manifold. I am trying to word this as best as I can. I bought a felpro kit from advanced auto because it was cheap and it came with everything I needed

There's a good chance you have the wrong part. there are EGR and non EGR applications. check the part numbers.
