There are two types of power window setups: the ribbon (early) and the scissor (late) regulators. The ribbon was a 1984-85 thing but, you may have had a door swap. A Corvette ribbon is a Corvette ribbon and they are of one basic design. If you are going to keep the car, the extra expense of installing a scissors regulator is worth the cost: faster, smoother and more reliable.
