C4 CORVETTE HEADLIGHT ISSUE..........HELP PLEASE!!!! NEED EXPERTISE ON THIS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My 1988 Corvette Coupe's Driver's headlight goes down and up like normal EXCEPT for when I turn the headlights off the motor sounds to be staying on for 5 seconds and then stops... It's like a clicking sound.. Any ideas on how to fix this? Like I said above, the motor works still and does what it's supposed to do except for it keeps running or clicking for the 5 seconds. Need help! Thanks.

Check the headlight motor relay, may be just sticking making it click if it works right.
You think it would be the relay even though the motor still works? Isn't the relay a little black box like a switch? Thanks.
Yup, you just posted it the relay. That's exactly what I was thinking of... Do you believe this possibly could be it or the motor gear and bushings?
Seems like the motor gear is slipping that's what it sounds like... I see on Corvette Mods they have a replacement for 60 bucks. But want to see if anyone else had this same issue first before I went and bought this part and made it a weekend job... lol
Change the relay,it keeps the power to the motor, making it do that.
The relay is probably sticking making it run longer than needed.
That's what I'm going to do.. Just need to find one now for my '88 -- I see all '87's but not for '88. Figures. Thanks for all your help!
Of course can't find an '88 relay...
Is this what I need? I believe so. It's called an isolation relay... Found it! http://www.ecklerscorvette.com/corvette-headlight-isolation-relay-1984-1988.html
Does anyone know where the isolation relay is located in my 1988 Corvette?
Nice car! I like the brake caliper covers in red!
