1989 Corvette, Automatic

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
When I am driving the car dies. I have spent over $7000.00 on repairs.
Mechanic has upgraded the entire car. But the reason I keep taking it back is
because I will be driving and the engine just dies. I put the trans in neutral
and restart it while it is still traveling, It dies at least twice everytime I take it
on the road. Does anyone have any idea what is wrong? my e.mail
dgurule360@gmail.com, my cell is 503-910-9803. Please help. I love my
Corvette but I am so afraid something terrible is going to happen when I am
on the freeway and it dies. Thanks - David

You do not say what your mechanic has done or has to say about the problem. Have you replaced the ECM?
What is the ECM. Up graded fuel injectors, plugs, plug wires, starter, distributor etc
The Engine Control Module. What you list is not even close to 7 grand.
Are you throwing money at it in hopes you fix the problem or do you have reasons for these repairs? Just a guess here but you may need a better mechanic.
Transmission overhaul, driveshaft overhaul, new tires, upgraded heater and AC. new tires.
Have him check out the ECM but I think you need a second opinion.
Engine control module - is that the computer that sits underneath the dashboard?
Thank You! I think you have put me in a proper and more accurate mode!
I just had the same thing fixed - turned out a mouse had chewed the wire going to the ECM!
I had the ECM Overhauled by Davies Corvette Parts & Accessories, New Port Richie, Florida. My Corvette is running perfect - Like a new car! Love it!! :0)
