My 2006 Toyota Avalon Limited has air conditioning that works but takes a while to get cold air going; any ideas on what might be going on? I had refrigerant put in with gauges but still no luck! Help

ARE YOU SURE THE FREON AMOUNT IS CORRECT? Remember, when your cars bake in the sun, for even a short time, the heat stores up in large quantities. You must remove this before it starts to feel cool inside. But what if the air doesn’t seem to get cold after 5 minutes? one common in my area at this time of the year is a radiator or a condenser considerably clogged with bugs, dust and dirt, or road debris and trash.

My friends 2006 Avalon started blowing only cool air instead of cold. After testing all the fuses and determining them good, I opened the hood, and had my friend start the car with the a/c off, then turn the a/c on so I could make sure the clutch on the compressor was engaging. It was, but what I also noticed was that only one of the two radiator fans was spinning when they should both engage at the same time. I gave the unspinning fan blade a little spin start with my flashlight and it started right up (I believe it was in the clockwise direction if you were sitting in the car, but you could always start the car and turn off and verify which way the other fan is going as it slows to a stop). Please use something other than your finger to get it spinning since you may need that in the future for something else. Until we get the fan(s) replaced, she may have to pop the hood and hand start that fan if the A/C isn’t blowing cold. Hopefully this helps someone else!!
