2009 Jeep Wrangler Squeaks

Question type: General

I purchased a 2009 Jeep Wrangler brand new in Aug of 09. Within a week of driving off
the lot I heard a squeak coming from underneath the vehicle. Couldn't tell exactly where. I
took back the the dealership service several times and was told normal road noise and
"brakes squeak" I went there so much they sent a mechanic to go for a ride with me. I
heard the squeak and he kept insisting that he didn't hear. It go to the point where I felt as
if they weren't going to help so I learned to deal with it and not roll windows down. Fast
forward to the present time. The sound is still there except much louder.  I have to blast
my radio if I want to roll the windows down and you can definitely hear me coming. I am
well out of warranty and it makes me extremely mad that someone at Jeep didn't stand by
their product and figure out what was going on. I am an awesome advertisement for Jeep
quality. Sad part is that I always wanted one and was so excited when I could finally buy it.
Has anyone else experienced a high pitched squeak while driving? Not just when hitting
brakes. It occurs as soon as I start driving over 2 or 3 mph.

Not usually but the brakes also squeak. Been squeaking since about a year after I purchased. Was told "modern brakes squeak now because of different materials" i had a 2009 Mustang prior to Jeep and those brakes didnt squeak. I finally got tired of fighting with the dealership. I actually had to threaten to sue in 2010 to get the dealership to look at my shaking steering. Come to find out a broken bolt that could have caused an accident. I was so happy the day I drove it off the lot too. Now just a nightmare. Thanks for responding.

That squeak you hear is from cheap brake pads put some good ones on it and you will not have that problem and the other squeak ask if there are grease fitting on the universal joints and other front end parts because most do not have grease fittings anymore . If not ask if they could spray some WD40 around the universal joints to see if that helps stop the squeak that will let you know if that is your problem.

Thank you so much! I am going to take it to the service center this week. Wish I had asked and found you 5 years ago.
