Issues after oil change 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek

Asked by GuruLKVV9 Apr 17, 2019 at 02:03 PM about the 2013 Subaru Crosstrek XV Premium AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Recently performed an oil change on my car
and went to go drive it afterwards and a
bunch of dash lights are on now. Hill assist,
check engine light, at oil temp, cruise
control, ABS and traction light are all on.  We
checked the oil level and it says that there is
double the amount that should be in there
but we put in the amount stated in the
owners manual. Any idea what could have
caused this?

You probably drained the transmission instead. It's easy to do since the drain plug for the transmission is easy to mistake for the oil drain bolt. Hence the reason why you have too much oil.
