engine control system light came on

i have a 2023 sonata hybrid and the car is saying that the :engine control
system has been detected. a full system check is recommended"  the check
engine light is on and is not flashing.   i have an appointment for next week.  is
it ok to drive the car for a 3 hour one way trip over the weekend

I wouldn’t, your just asking to be left sitting on the roadside. You need to take it to the dealer and see if they will give you a loaner while it’s in the shop. If things are going bad already that doesn’t sound good for that vehicle, make sure you document everything just in case you wind up with another Hyundai lemon.

If you have free roadside assistance from Hyundai, I would. If it quits they can tow you in and fix it for free under warranty! Jim
