Is my head gasket blown?

Asked by Mason Sep 08, 2015 at 03:36 PM about the 1994 Ford Escort 2 Dr LX Hatchback

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So everytime I put water in my radiator, and
crank my car, it all starts running out of my
exhaust. It just keeps comming until I'm
pretty much empty. It's not milky or sweet,
it's just plain water. My fuel cutoff light is on
and my car won't start. Could this be my
head gasket?

It sure sounds like it is...Blown Head Gasket Symptoms: 1.Coolant leaking externally from bellow the exhaust manifold. 2.White smoke from the exhaust pipe. 3.Overheating engine. 4.Bubbles in the radiator or coolant overflow tank.5.White milky oil. 6.Significant loss of coolant with no visible leaks.....http://www.agcoauto.com/content/news/p2_articleid/200

Head gasket, cracked head or cracked block. It is never good when coolant leaves the cooling system via the exhaust pipe.
