it'd be fun - but you'd come out ahead $ wise, time wise, and headache wise by saying bye to the current car and purchasing a GT or Cobra

ok heres the deal the supercharger uses the engines power to basically put in more fuel to make the car go faster, less mpg more hp, the turbo takes heat from the exhaust to increase the air flow meaning more mpg AND more hp, i would go with the turbo, and you could always twin turbo if u wanted.

TURBO!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME! Make sure the internals, u know pistons and what not, can take it first though.

supercharge it. People say that turbos dont take away any HP but they do it through exhaust backpressure. also a supercharger will enhance your MPG because it atomizes the fuel coming into the cylinders. While a turbo is easier to modify on the fly a supercharger system is less expensive, less complicated, and will give you a constant HP increase throughout the powerband.

Dylan is partially correct. everybody else doesnt know what there talking about. What you need to know first is what ur going to be using the car for. Daily driver? Track car? weekend cruiser? Im presuming that ur using the car as a daily driver. If so you should supercharge it. Turbos have alot more variations in the set up and if not done correctly it can be detrimental to the motor's health. With a supercharger you get power throughout the entire RPM range but u are going to burn full like never before. You also need to find out how much HP you want to put to the road, that has alot to do with the choosing of your system. If you arent looking for a huge HP gain just get a reliable shop to slap a turbo kit on there and run like 6 or 7 PSI. If u do turbo it make sure its a top mounted turbo. If you boost the shit out of the car with like 15 or 20 PSI then do a motor rebuild. Mustangs are drag cars not drift cars. Honestly, if you look for a HP gain of more than 80 to 100 then your eventually gonna ruin the car if you dont do internal work. Like i said earlier, if its a daliy driver dont do to much supercharger or turbo work.

Turbo....turbo is gonna make more hp and torque and will be a faster car with the same boost. You will also get better gas mileage. Turbos are the shit.

I think yo can only bolt a supercharger to a mustang. It's better than a turbo anyway

i agree supercharge Your comment is wrong in so many ways i wont even bother fixing you but i will say... 1) I dont know where you got supercharger atomized the fuel better than turbo charger. the car is still direct injected the only difference between superchargers and turbo is one runs of gas and one runs by exhaust gasses. Air enter the engine the same way and will atomize fuel the same way. 2) easy?!?!?! besides the obvious strengthening block you just add a bigger pully to the damn supercharger.

Just to let u know u can put a supercharger on pretty much everything and i know for sure u can turbo anything that a combustion engine. And a turbo is better cause your not creating boost while at a steady speed unlike a supercharger. A turbo only creates boost when accelerating. So in turn more fuel efficient.

if its a 3.8, sell it and buy a gt.

If you are mechanically inclined, I recommend turbo. If not, bolt on a sc kit and enjoy. I had a heavy '95 Mustang GT convertible, with heads, intake, stock cam, a good fuel system and tune, with a small t04b turbo the car went 10.81 @ 126 with a manual trans. Unfortunately boost is addictive either way, and I was eventually running two 76mm turbos and making 1000 hp, $80k later. Just make sure you get a good fuel system and a tune, that is important and often overlooked.
