my low & high beam works! but after few minutes they flash off & on! =??

1990 chevy van g20 when i drive at nite put my lights on low (or) high beam
after few min. they go off & on! when they go out! i push light switch in & out
couple times & they come back on! then sometimes they stay on! &
sometimes go back off! i then push my light off & on until they stay on!

try checking your relays
ill try relays! where are they located! =????
And check out the headlight switch. It sounds like a strong possibility.
headlights are not always fused, for safety. a circuit breaker heats up in fuse panel and breaks, and back on when cool , due to high resistance or short to ground
I'm experiencing the same problem , could anyone shed any light on it , sorry for the pun , I have a 1990 g20

OK ' we had replaced the light switch on the dash with a local parts store part, we installed it and let the van run for a few mines and the lights started going off an on again, we found out that there is a built in breaker in the head light switch, so what we did was we got one from the GM Dealer ,we installed it .We let the van run for one hour, the lights never went off an on again. So you have to buy the light switch from a dealer. This should take care of every ones problem. Hope this helps every one.
