Question type: General

I have a 1994 ford ranger and sometimes the gas
gauge is pointing through the full zone then other
days it doesn't move atall. Never gives a true
reading any thoughts?

The gauge is located on the fuel pump assembly and has a rising ballast arm that is prone to inaccuracy...whether they get stuck from contamination in the tank, or whether they have been replaced before and banged up a bit...if that arm does not move freely, your reading will never be accurate. If you want to dig in...drop the tank, pull that son of gun out, and replace the whole assembly (might as well do the pump while you have it out). Good Luck
