how do i fix my over heating problem

See if the fans come on when it gets hot , Has performance and mileage declined recently ? Is the exhaust white ? Is there goop under the oil fill cap ? Do a compression test before you spend any more money .

Does the car have an air dam mounted below the front of the engine (used to funnel air around the engine block)? If it is missing or damaged, it can cause an engine to run hot as well.
