I have a 2000 monte carlo ss I had to get a jump when I bought it from sitting so long it runs good but in the morning when I turn the ignition on the car wont start all the lights go out and I hear 1 click the lights and every thing work but when I turn the key it just doesnt start

First I would check the battery. If you take it to Pep Boys or another auto parts store, they'll usually check it for free. If the battery is good, then it's probably the alternator or the belt to the alternator. Usually not an expensive fix.
It could be the battery. Try to jump start it. If it starts, you know you have a good starter. Once its running, check for battery voltage using a voltmeter on the + and - sides of the battery. Remember to remove the jumper cables. It should read 14 or more volts while running. 14 or more volts means the alternator is working. Now just let the car run for about 45 minutes. Shut it off and try to start it again. If it doesn't start, then you need a battery. Now if the original jump start doesn't help to start the engine, find the starter motor and give it a few light taps with a hammer. Try jump starting again. If it starts now, you know you need a starter.
I was driving my Monte Carlo 2006 and it just turned off and when I try to start it we go 666 a someone said that it was locked up but I don't believe it was it was running good no lights on no nothing everything was fine can you help me please help me help me help me
