Asked by Steffie Aug 24, 2014 at 03:46 PM about the 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Ever sense the car over heated the first time the car has lost power and runs rough, we
have replaced MAP sensor, fuel fillter, had fuel system cleaned, thermostat and still runs
bad and burns a hole in the intake what could it be.

I had a post but it was confusing ..even to me when I re-read it. So let me just ask..are you sure it's EGR not PCV? If an EGR hose somehow got hooked up where the PCV is supposed to be it will burn plastic and run real badly. I don't have a clue how it could happen..just guessing and not calling you wrong Steffie, just guessing This is a typical EGR click image
