I just got a 1999 chevy silverado 1500 ext cab. My question is how do you get the door locks to automaticly unlock after putting it in park. They lock on their own but don't unlock on their own. Any suggestions?

The auto locking mechanism was added as a safety feature. Through the factory electronics I don't believe that it's possible to unlock the doors automatically after putting it in park.

Hit the unlock button, thats all you have to do.It was not until two years later, you could scroll through the instrument cluster settings, and achieve what you ask a 1999 to do.Dont you love modern technology.
it can be programmed- it will be in the manual.
