What could keep a brand new spark plug from
firing if wires are good spark plug is new and coil is
new.  1999 Chevy silverado

Ok are actually seeing that the plug isn't firing or did you replace the plug and the cylinder is still dead ? .have you checked distributor cap /rotor ? Is it just one spark plug not firing or none firing ? Maybe more information from you would make it easier to help answer your question and get you back on the road ..
