Chevy Silverado 1999 1500 4x4

I put my truck in reverse put it into drive
heard clunking noise tried to drive an when I
revved it wasn't really revving I could hear
some popping as I did I put it into 4 high it
drove for a while but didn't sound great got
most of the way home turned then it started
to fail all together now it runs but when I rev
it does the same as before and its hard to
turn the steering wheel shifting felt fine
