Dead Battery

Asked by EBroadaway Sep 16, 2016 at 12:22 AM about the 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT Extended Cab RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My mother is currently driving my 99 silverado and
she has recently told me that every morning the
trucks battery is dead, she had the truck looked at
and no one could find what was causing the drain,
she even replaced the alternator which didn't help,
currently there is a quick disconnect on the
negative terminal of the battery to keep it from
draining all its power over night, If anyone has any
ideas what's causing this I'd appreciate it

Alternator always cause the problem , but you have changed that. Okay, check the lighting system for any possible short circuit somewhere. I did the same thing when I had issues of battery drain with my car. I removed all the fuses associated with interior and exterior lights and was discovered there was indeed a problem with the door light. Your own case may look different but give it a try.
