Can I fit 285/75/r16 on my Silverado?

Question type: General

I've got a 99 RCSB Silverado 2wd work truck model. Right now its got
235/75/r16 that are almost bald and I dont like the look of them because they
barely fill the wheel wells. I want to step up to 285s but I dont want to lift it. Also
I don't have a torsion bar, I have coils. Will the 285s fit?? I will do some cutting if
I have to.

Keep in mind if you put larger diameter tires on your truck, it will throw off your speedometer and you may get a speeding ticket. Check the sticker inside the door jamb or consult the owner's manual for tire size options. Rarely it can affect computer readings, causing the engine or tranny control systems to run improperly based on sensor inputs compared to perceived vehicle speed.

I know. What I don't know is if they will fit lol. I dont want to buy them and then they not fit.

265/75r16 should fit well, 285's will be pushing it
