88 k1500 350 have 2 of them. Both will some times not start

88 350 k1500 shut off running will not start.tryed  prime
no fire.has done this before the ne c t day it fires
up.why.new cap rotar wires.new ingnition mod.          Also
have a 88 Chevy with 12000 miles really. Bought it runs on
a prime. New gas tank and fuel pump.started  right up.left
it sit a week same thing .changed the ign mod .still runs
on a prime only
Help guys please in iowa
