Oil leak

An oil pressure sender only measures whether you have enough oil pressure to insure your engine will lubricate properly. Has nothing to do with a leak until enough oil leaks out and causes a low oil condition. If your oil level has been dropping, look elsewhere to find your leak remembering that some may be leaking inside your engine and not showing up on your floor.
Oh contrear' on that one, oil pressure sending units will leak between the metal housing and the plastic electrical part. Not uncommon.
Thanks for cleaning this up, "Rowefast". I interpreted his question as asking if the car would leak oil if the sender unit failed. Yes, it can be a leak source at its mounting location but if it was in tightly and the sender failed, it would not be the cause of a leak. Thanks for clarifying for him.
Right, not a cause for an oil leak, but the oil sending unit can leak. Sometime I have a problem with words also, Not Uncommon for me.lol
