Question type: General

'm wanting to change gears from 3.43 to 3.73 because when towing these
light loads( 6x12 open trailer or 18ft bass boat) my truck has a hard time
maintaining hwy speeds, trans is constantly changing even with towing
button pushed! Is this the best and easiest way to solve this problem?
I have a small V-8 (4.8)

What highway speeds are you talking about exactly? And , do you mean going uphill? How is it working from start-up to tow? How much does your boat and trailer weigh? I assume that you are not trying to pull more than 80 percent of the maximum towing capacity on the truck, are you??

Just one more thought, have you considered getting your transmission fluid changed recently, a new service would not be a bad idea..
