after running truck a while, when stopped at light or after parking at home, i hear a sound like a metal can expanding(like a paint thinner can in heat) from back passenger side..What is that? fuel vapor canister thingy?

Your tank is either not venting for some reason or the fuel pump is collapsing the tank due to no vent. Take your gas cap off. Did it just suck in a ton of air? I'm just guessing here.......
just took off gas cap..no noises or anything..been parked for couple hours..truck runs beautifully..just had oil change, fairly new fuel filter, etc..tune up basically. started before all that though.
Well that's good. Maybe it's just the gas sloshing around in the tank. Have you got under the truck an pushed on the tank at all to see if it pops if you push on it? That should be the thinnest metal on the whole truck.
will try that for sure..dude at work thought it might be fuel evaporator system, not releasing vapors properly..still a possibility, but he had me worried talking about gas tank exploding..maybe the fuel canister vent valve? will end up taking it in..was trying to see if could fix it myself.
Same thing 2006 Silverado guys at my work have wondered for years

evap vent is not venting basiclly sucking your fuel tank together
