Going on 3rd catalytic converters, should I fix it or
bypass it. Truck has little rust on it. Engine burns oil

Does your state have an emissions test? If not, do what you gotta do. If yes, then you're stuck keeping them. Unfortunately burning oil or running rich takes its toll on cats.
