What types of upgraded transmissions will work with my 2003 Chevy Silverado
Z71 4WD?

Upgraded? Try shops that build HD versions of the one you have. Look online.

You have a 4l60e with a 242 transfer case.. an upgrade would be a 4l80e with a 263xhd transfer case. It is 1 inch longer so you may or may not need to shorten driveshaft. Probably not. Or you could clock your rear diff to accommodate and maintain a nice angling truck is lifted.. 4l80 takes more power to turn over so it may take a tiny bit of your speed away off the line but it maintains speed easier once at a cruising speed.
