Truck sputters, stalls then whines.

I have a 2003 Chevy Silverado LS flatbed Extended cab 5.3L
8cyl, i was going 55mph then my truck started sputtering
and jerking. I almost couldn't make it home because it kept
getting worse to the point to where it stalls then I can hear
a really loud whine sometimes after it stalls, and right after
it stalls it takes some hesitation for the engine to start back
up. I started it up after replacing the fuel filter to see if that
was the problem, and at first the truck was running better,
but when I got down the road a ways it started doing the
same thing, I cleaned the MAS and the Throttle Body too
and nothing.
