Question type: Maintenance & Repair

ok i have a 94 sho automatic, it has a ticking sound at 750 rpms-1,000 rpms, stalls at random with a engine light that some times flashes, the car won't go over 5,000 rpms in drive, misfires and stalls after about 2 minutes of driving, does not acclerate smoothy and doesn't have full power, starts up good cold, the car will not stay running, and will idle smooth until it jumps randomly, the rpm gauge has gone hay wire jumping and falling, the car has 129,000 miles on it, here is a video of the engine running:      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6IhwejqYCGE            i would like to either fix it or replace the engine any help is great, thanks

Check the engine codes before making any serious assumptions. Check the spark plugs, make sure you dont have a loose or broken one, I had a similar sound once with a broken spark plug. You also may have a bad camshaft position sensor. I'd also suggest you hit up one of the Taurus clubs.

If you still haven't figured it out I would do a compression test. It sounds like a really badly burnt valve. That would explain all of the symptoms too.
