Transmission want go
Asked by Kristen Aug 19, 2017 at 04:28 AM about the 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Extended Cab RWD
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
All the sudden one night my truck was making a horrible grinding and wasn't
shifting right so I stopped and next day it just wouldn't go in any gear but
reverse. We jacked the rear end up and it would go then but put any weigh
on it then it wouldn't . So changed transmission and same issue

If it has the same symptoms after the tranny swap then it must be either the rear end or linkages (depends on if it's manual or automatic of course). Not enough info given.
I lifted the rear in back up and it's not going and it's a automatic
I'm sorry I else I should tell I described the best I could my husband working on it this is what he told me and what I saw How do I check the linkage
If I go get a basic code reader but that tell me Sakely what's wrong

Sounds like trans unless you see the driveshaft trying to rotate and rear chunk making it not possible.
