My 2004 1500 Z71 when on the highway or doing over 40 will start to stutter then come out of it. Does the feul filter need to be changed and can it.

I would start by changing the fuel filter and go from there.

when was the last time you had your car tuned up? spark plugs, wires, air filter, pcv valve etc.

Changing the fuel filter sounds good, then checking fuel pump pressure. Could be weakened fuel pump having troubel keeping up with fuel flow at higher speed

Well at 45 the torque converter clutch locks up. If it is starting to go out every time it tries to engage it will shudder for a little till it stops. A fuel issue should be more noticeable at idle of on takeoff during harder throttle and rpm
