04' z71 tail/brake lights

Asked by Guru6NSX Jun 19, 2018 at 06:54 PM about the 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Z71 Extended Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I bought a 04'chevy Silverado z71 with a flatbed on
it. When the lights come on the brake lights come
on. It only does this when lights are on. When they
are off the brake lights work properly. This leaves
me driving it during the day.  Any help?

What kind of taillights are installed? For full functionality the brake/ running light needs to be a dual filament bulb (1157 round socket style or 3157 blade socket style) and wired appropriately. I've seen alot of people use trailer lights on flat beds to your same result. Jeep wrangler taillights are a great choice as they're cheap, abundant, easy to mount and fully functioning
