Anyone know why my truck does this?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi everyone, I'm having trouble with my 04 Silverado. I had
the transmission rebuilt last year. Now the transfer case
went out and I have that repaired also. But after I got it
back every time I start up the vehicle it starts in 4 low. It
allows me to put it in two-wheel but after I put it in drive it's
just stuck in first gear. Every now and then it will but most
of the time it just stays in first gear. Does anyone have any
ideas? I am a completely lost and can't find any information
about this problem. Thank you in advance.

With all the design and electronic changes made over the years in a gm truck trannys you really need a pro to do the rebuilds .One little clip or spring misaligned or done wrong can cause problems

Was the truck’s computer updated after the repairs were completed? If not that maybe the whole problem.

Check your electrical connections at the transmission. One might be unplugged or have a bad connection. Jim
