Why does the fan stay on after I cut the engine off? 2005 chevy silverado

Fan(s) stay on until the engine temp is reduced to "acceptable level determined by the manufacturer. Possibly.. a RELAY, you changed the block temperature sensor that's another common issue.. So try tapping relays that are in the underhood fuse box. If the fans stop, it's a bad relay. The computer controls the cooling fans when coolant temperature exceeds approx 220°F or the air-conditioning is turned on. Make sure the BATTERY isn't old too!

The fan stays running until the batteries dead.

If it is running constantly, that is better than not running at all- but not good to stay on til the battery dies- there is a thermo switch in the radiator- it is probably bad-
