Inside frame rail on drivers side near fuel tank

i cannot find any fuel filter on my 2005 silveado 4.3 in he frmae rail

What is the model # for a 2005 chevy silverado 1500 fuel filter 5.3l

Follow the fuel line from engine compartment back fuel filter is not in the rail on the driver side where else might it be?

Gm stopped putting online filters on their trucks in 04 it's in the tank with the pump.

Have been looking for the fuel filter for hours. Mechanic says that it is on the frame rail. . I say he is wrong. I firmly believe that it is inside the fuel tank on the fuel pump itself. . Is this true.
